Obituary of Margaret L. (Hyman) Maier

Penfield-Passed away on February 24, 2022, at age 93.  Margaret was born on October 21, 1928, to Norman and Esther Hyman in Penfield. She graduated from Webster High School in 1946 and attended Rochester Business Institute. On June 23, 1951, Margaret married George Krenzer Maier at Holy Trinity Church, Webster. George and Margaret went on to own and operate Maier’s Farm Market and Cider Mill for many years. Margaret loved working on the farm in Penfield. Her favorite hobbies were collecting and selling antiques over the years and she worked endlessly to care for her family. Rest in peace Mom, we will miss you dearly.

Predeceased by her husband, George, and sons, John and Joe Maier, sister, Virginia Bizub, and brother Henry Hyman. She is survived by her children Jim (Tonia) Maier of Ontario, Jane (Steve) Hart of Webster, and Jacob Maier of Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Justin (Pauline) Mintz, Troy (Alyssa, Amalia and Vinny) Lubberts, Shannon (Tyler) Hart, Sarah Hart, Jessica Maier and also many caring nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Friends may call on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 1-4PM at Jennings, Nulton, and Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022,10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield, and interment will follow at Webster Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions made to the School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, 14623 or UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY, 14580.

The family would also like to thank St. Ann’s at Cherry Ridge in Webster for all their kindness and compassionate support.
