He found his passion volunteering with Gilda’s Club after his initial experience with cancer.  Richard devoted much of his non-family and friend time to Gilda’s Club (now Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s) and the community it supports.  His years of dedication, empathy, and hard work were recognized with the Heroes Award from Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s in 2022.

Richard loved his family and friends deeply and devoted his life to them.   His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry, landscape photography, and the great outdoors, where he enjoyed a wide range of activities including canoeing, hiking, biking, and boating. Dick was loved deeply and will be missed very much by all of those who knew him.  Memories of his heart and spirit will be cherished by his extensive family and friends.
