Sally Kovacs Obituary

 

Sally (Ferren) Kovacs, 96, of Canandaigua NY passed away Thursday, October 24th after a short hospitalization following a stroke. 

 

Born on August 15, 1928 in Syracuse NY, Sally is survived by her son-in-law, Bill Mountain of Penfield NY; grandchildren, Ted Mountain and his partner, Aylin Tunay of Pittsford NY, Jill (Mountain) Baker and her husband, David of Lyndhurst NJ; and great-grandchildren, Elyssa (Fairport NY) and Eric (Buffalo NY). She is also survived by her nieces ,Janice Hardy (Skaneateles NY) and Lucille Erlenback (LaFayette NY) and their families.

Sally was predeceased by her husband, Forest Kovacs, and her three children, Margey (Kovacs) Mountain, Cindy (Kovacs) Vacca, and Robert Kovacs. 

Sally was a branch manager for Chase Bank for many years before she retired. She lived with her family in Penfield, Churchville and Greece NY. She was a die-hard Syracuse football and basketball fan and loved to watch every Mets baseball game that she could. She spent many summers at Skaneateles Lake with her sister and her family, and she loved a trip to a casino! Sally was the life of the party and will be sorely missed. 

Per Sally’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. The family will be holding a short service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt NY on Tuesday, October 29th at 10am if anyone wishes to pay their condolences. Sally was a huge dog-lover, so please consider a donation to Lollypop Farm in lieu of sending flowers or gifts.
