I ran across this obit for Doug about a month ago, but I wasn't positive it was my friend from our PHS class of 1967 until I did some research and read a note from Bruce passed to me on Facebook by Kathy Hess Mills. I last talked to Doug when he lived in the East Ave. area. We had a nice chat and then he seemed to disappear (actually must have moved to TN), but I searched for him off and on for years so he could be included in our class contact list. He was a sweet guy and I am sorry he didn't know I cared enough to find him. My condolences to his Mom and siblings. I will pass this sad info on to our class.

I am so stunned and sorry to hear about Doug's passing. Doug and I met at work on April 7, 1984. We quickly became very close friends, and I cared very deeply for him. Although we went our separate ways in 1985, I thought of him often and wished him well. He had a kind and generous heart, and was a sensitive and deeply caring person. He was always very kind to my son when we were seeing each other. He gave me a necklace 25 years ago.....a little gold heart with a sapphire. I've kept it all these years, and took it out today to look at it, and it brought back so many memories. I'll always remember him.
He was a very talented musician, and I used to enjoy listening to him play the keyboard and sing at Crescent Beach restaurant all those years ago.
Mrs. Griffiths, I only met you a few times 25 years ago when I used to visit Doug at your home, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now. Please accept my deepest condolences.
I hope that his dear soul rests in peace forever in heaven.
Blessings,
Cathy Ramsey
